We made it! After hundreds of kilometers and several days on the road, we finally arrive in Vancouver. It’s the biggest city in Canada and it’s quite lovely. We spent 48 hours in Vancouver and we found it dynamic, animated, green and welcoming. We are charmed! Good point for Vancouver, as we are looking for a new place to settle down after our trip 😉

Our hike in Squamish was exhausting but we nethertheless find the strength and motivation to go for a walk in Lighthouse Park. This small park near the big city offers a beautiful view on Vancouver Skyline under the sunset.
It’s then time for us to drive in the biggest city in Canada. We head to North Vancouver admiring beautiful streets and luxurious houses facing the bay. We find a calm parking lot in a neighborough park to spend the night. We eat watching locals enjoy the hot day, swim and paddle in the bay until way after dark. Then we surreptitiously slip inside the car for a very warm night.

Another hot and sunny day. We hide in the public library for most of the day, catching up work, photos and blog. It’s not before 5pm that we finally get out. What do we do now? We suddenly want to get a closer look to Vancouver. Let’s go to Downtown! After three months on the road, and two months in the less populated States of North America, we completely forgot what it’s like to be in a big city. It’s Thursday, 5pm and it’s traffic jam time! We need 1 hour to drive...3 kms! We finally are able to cross the Lions Gate bridge to Stanley Park.
Stanley Park is the Central Park of Vancouver: it’s a vast green area where locals come to walk, run, swim, bike and do sport. It’s extremely warm and sunny today and lot of people are enjoying the park. We walk along the Seawall, a 28 km long walkway near the bay and we enjoy a splendid view on Downtown. It’s sunset and we love the atmosphere here.
Then... we go to Vancouver! The Jeep seems tiny as we drive between the buildings. It’s impressive and beautiful, with the last light of the sun. Everything is busy and animated and crowded and loud and green. We immediately fall in love with that urban ambiance and wonder how much is an apartment here! 😀
Moreover, Vancouver has an Asset that Montreal doesn’t have (and we deeply love Montreal): a beach! The night is falling and we head to Jericho beach, the biggest beach in the city. Sand, waves, picnic tables, firepits, people swimming, playing, eating, relaxing, walking. We love it. We love everything. We love Vancouver. As we drive back to the edge of the city for the night, it’s dark and hot. We drive windows wide open, enjoying the warm atmosphere of the city and its busyness. For the first time, we spend the night on the Walmart parking lot.

This morning, a very important task awaits us: we need to fix our upper drawer. It’s been a while that we have to fight to close it. Now is time to end this. We booked a full morning to do it and that was a good idea: we spend nearly 4 hours fixing it!
Another thing we loved about Vancouver was the Persian grocery stores! We stocked up on fresh produces, delicious fruits and vegetables and pita bread and tzatziki 😋
After a huge but great burger at Five Guys, it’s time to go to the harbor. We take the ferry to Vancouver Island, the last stop of our Canadian trip.
