Un pneu plus loin is the story of a project born from a dream. The dream of traveling the Pan-American Highway from North to South to discover its most beautiful landscapes and connect two legendary places on our planet by road: Alaska and Patagonia. After dreaming about it for years and preparing for two, our project became a reality. On May 15, 2022, we set off on the roads of the Americas with our Jeep, an expedition vehicle specially equipped to tackle the roughest paths and most remote roads. Introducing the team! 😎

Rémi likes things to be well done. Everything is always perfectly planned with him, leaving no room for failure or even imperfection. He reads all consumer reviews before clicking “buy,” checks Street View on Google Maps before launching the GPS, and rereads the amount of stock before pouring it into the soup. A navigation pro, he likes to remind everyone that he scored 20/20 in this subject on his baccalaureate exam. He will be the GPS, compass, and Maps.me of this trip. He is also the main driver of JP, as his driving is smooth and safe, and he knows the vehicle’s dimensions like no one else, after two years of parking practice in a spot that “you’ll never fit in,” according to Natacha. Passionate about photography, he is the one behind the beautiful landscapes on the blog. He also enjoys taking photos of Natacha when she least expects it, with a talent for capturing the funniest expressions.
Natacha is not a navigation pro, and it’s her who sighs in exasperation behind Rémi’s back while he reads all the comments. More impulsive and impatient, it’s her who says “never mind” when the fridge is empty but Rémi is starving, and says “take this way” when she holds the GPS and Rémi asks, “Which way should I turn?” “Where to?” She loves the unexpected and improvisation, but not too much, which is why she still takes the time to study a bus route before setting off. However, being a bit absent-minded, she sometimes misses the bus, gets off at the wrong stop, or takes the bus in the wrong direction (and realizes it after five stops). Writing is her profession, but it’s purely for pleasure and passion that she types away on her keyboard to bring all the travel and adventure stories of this blog to life. She also enjoys taking photos when a place inspires her, even though Rémi will then have to adjust the horizon line for her.

Our Jeep is simply named JP. It’s up to you to decide if it refers to Jean-Philippe, Jean-Paul, or Jean-Pascal. Since we are now Québécois at heart, we pronounce it “Djipi” in the English way. But feel free to choose your preferred way of pronouncing it. JP, like any self-respecting Jeep, loves mud, dust, and challenges. He’s the champion at getting covered in grime as soon as he’s out of the car wash, to our great dismay. A true Québécois, he also enjoys playing in the snow, and the more snow, the more fun it is! A bit temperamental, he sometimes coughs when starting up if it’s too cold. But at -25°, who could blame him? When we first got him, he had never experienced trails, off-roading, or adventure. Now, he only dreams of resting a little! But don’t worry, we take great care of him, as JP is both our means of transportation and our home, and he must take us to the ends of the earth while carrying our entire life. A real challenge for him!
